Thursday was the Cammie Johnson Juvenile Diabetes Fundraiser in Menomonie. The scramble is in honor of Cammie Johnson; she lost the battle to diabetes 2 years ago. Her parents, Mark and Robin Johnson (who own Zanzibar Restaurant and Pub) say they want to honor her fight with the fundraiser, and help the hundreds of kids who still face the disease every day. Its estimated about $25,000 was raised Thursday. The money will be used to help send kids to diabetes camp to learn more about the disease, and be around other kids who have it.
